Box (online storage)

Box is a online storage tool.  The part that I like about this is that it can be viewed from any computer you are on.  People can spend lots of money on expensive hard drives, and storage devices.  But with box.net there is no need for those.  It's also great for sharing files with others, because it can be set up so that others can acces your files if you want them to.  The problem with this site is that your files are only safe as long as the site stays "in business."  If the site shuts down then all of your data is gone, and unaccessable. I have used a site called "dropio" before.  Which is used for sharing files.  To use that site you need to upload a file to the site, then it creates a web address to view that file.  So it is also stored online in a way, but for every file you wish to store you have another address to remember.  The good thing with box is that there's one address/site and you may have numerous files on one page.  Box creates a password protected profile for you to sign in on, so that others cannot find the address and look at the files.   It makes it easy to keep track of your data by having it all organized nicely in a list.  Box also has the option (via an email address) to invite friends to "collaborate" with your files.  So you and a homework partner, or a business partner can both view/add to your folders.
